Do you think that is smart to have advertising in school when ¼ of its population is either overweight or with type 2 diabetes? Does it make sense to allow fast food chain like McDonalds and Burger Kings market their product in school? I though school is place where we learn healthily living, were they teach us good health hobbits. Above all school should be a place to learn and advertising will distract from that goal. With the population of adolescents who are easier to manipulate then adults; isn’t dangers to their health and education to expose them to this kind of advertising I hope you share my censers and see that this not helping our children.
School should be an educational institution; a place where young people can increases their skills from math to literature. Not a place where ads can brainwash children to buy their product. Advertising is inappropriate and distraction. Ads sidetrack children from the main goal of teaching and learning, not having students thinking about a BIG MAC or a WHOOPER. In school student need to increases their math solving skills, where they can improve their writing and also a place where they can learn of healthily eating.
In past decade or two many states that have big city like New York have seen an alarming rate of obesities children and type 2 diabetes in children. Before it was only adults that would have this diseases but now with all this added chemicals that speed up the growth and size of that food we eat many of our children are getting this disease. This as to with the increases of high corn syrup that could be find in almost any type of food, for sunny delight to ketchup. High corn syrup is a sweetener made from corn: is composed of either 42 percent or 55 percent fructose, with the remaining sugars being primarily glucose and higher sugars. In terms of composition, high fructose corn syrup is nearly identical to table sugar (sucrose), which is composed of 50 percent fructose and 50 percent glucose. Glucose is one of the simplest forms of sugar that serves as a building block for most carbohydrates. Fructose is a simple sugar commonly found in fruits and honey. In the New York Times “A TAX TO COMBAT AMERICA’S SUGARY DIET” they have a section in which they about sugar and high fructose corn syrup “not ordinary table sugar(which the body breaks down to a 50-50 sugar combination of glucose and fructose, the makeup of high-fructose corn syrup); not brown sugar or raw sugar; not honey; not agave syrup; not even fruit juice concentrate. All theses sweetener when added to drinks contribute mostly empty calories that do little to satisfy the appetite and end up as excess energy that the body ultimately turns to fat. And soda, though the most common sugary beverage, is not the only one involved.” By allowing advertising in school is likely to increases the incidence of the illness of diabetes because as the article said many beverages contain corn syrup. In school there many vending machines have sodas also have ads in all over the school. This doesn’t make sense it goes against school morals, school teach young kids to eat healthily but in the same note we allow them to buy sodas in school.

In conclusions, advertising in school causes a lot of health problems, from overweight to illness. This show how much we need to educative our children in high fructose corn syrup and what are some of the solution that will helps decreases the alarming rate of type 2 debates. Also we need to put a stop on the corn syrup all together because this affecting us and our children.

should we allowed advertising in school?

Should fast food advertising be allowed in school? No, we should allow this fast food chains post their ads in or around the school. School is a place for knowledge not a place to eat unhealthy. Those company only want this because their trying to brainwash kids to always want to eat from there. They also know that there will increase seals. We shouldn’t allow them to this for their own good.
First, many fast food restaurant like McDonalds and Burger King are advertising everywhere from TV commercial to build-board in front of school of all different ages. You can see adds every minute on TV, you can find a McDonalds bag almost anywhere on the floor, and you can find a fast food chain around in any community. This shows that these big time chains are very popular and have increases throughout the years. Beside find one those fast food chain in the United Stated, you can also find one in other countries like Dominica Republic, Brazil, France, and Australia even in Iraq. So this shows that this chain are around the world franchise that having a great income every year. This has a great impact in the economy because it shows that there making money no matter what.
Second, in past decade or two many states that have big city like New York have seen an alarming rate of obesities children and type 2 diabetes in children. And soda, though the most common sugary beverage, is not the only one involved.” With the increases of corn syrup in almost every beverage and food it’s not to have all this extra weight because our body doesn’t break down and we continue consuming this unhealthy product.
Third, with the increases of advertising especially in school many of children either become over weight or already are overweight. Many company like McDonalds and Burger king try to advertise to school like elementary school because it’s easier to brainwash them. They advertise there product so such in our school that we all know their food selections because of all the ads, build boards, we see our favorite celebrities eating there. We see brand like McDonalds everywhere. It’s like they brainwash us for young to know everything about McDonalds. For an exempla; I remember when I was young I would always want a McDonald every time I would see or hear one. Those fast food chains are a big reason why so many young adults and children are overweight. And many children now have a greater chances getting type 2 diabetes. Before only adults was the only one that would get this disease. Now one out of three children would get type 2 diabetes and with the increases of corn syrup in a few years it’s going to be one every 2 children going to have diabetes. This means the next generation of kids half of them will have this illness. Meaning that in the next 30-40 years at less half of your family member will have this. This means that we need to change the way we consume all this high fructose corn syrup. One way is to educate our children for young about corn syrup and tell them the damages it does in the future. Another way is by giving more fruits to eat as snack and cooking more vegetables that comes from organic farms. We also should take kids to public parks and put them in active activities like sports; anything that will have kids out side running around not thinking about unhealthy food.
In conclusions, advertising in school causes a lot of health problems, from overweight to illness. This show how much we need to educative our children in high fructose corn syrup and what are some of the solution that will helps decreases the alarming rate of type 2 debates. Also we need to put a stop on the corn syrup all together because this what affecting us and our children.

outline

Outline:
Fast food restaurant shouldn’t be able to advertising there food school or anywhere that many children spend most on their time because once they do, there will increase their sale. Then this mean that overweight and obesities will increase as well.
1st paragraph: talking about how advertising affect the economy
2ND paragraph: talking about the increase with obesities

Why McDonalds like picking teens so much?

Why does fast food restaurants, like McDonalds always hire teenager? McDonalds and other fast food chain hire teenagers because they know it’s easier to manipulate by 8 or more hours. For example: this franchise like McDonalds’ would make kids work from 4 until 12. Will only give them a 30 minutes lunch break and the employers have to pay for their own food. They work this time six days a week without any change in their schedule and if they have a change in to work more hours. Many of this teen with these ridiculous hours because they don’t know any better and plus they don’t want to lose their jobs for speaking up.
In the book “Fast Food Industry” by Eric Schlosser in the “Behind the counter” chapter, page 70 paragraph 3 “The management no longer depends upon the talents or skills of workers – those things are built into the operating system and machines. Jobs that that have been “de-skilled” can be filled cheaply. The need to retain any individual worker in greatly reduced by the ease with which he or she can be replaced.” These shows that these restaurant franchises pick what’s easier for them replace and the easing pickings are teenagers. They‘re so easy to replace because they don’t need to have many job experience or if any, the only things they must know is how to press a button and how to put the food on a plate. It makes some sense why McDonalds hire teenagers their just easier for these non-skilled jobs.
I remember when I just turned 16. I got my working papers and when too applied to work for a restaurant around my neighborhood. I went on a Tuesday afternoon and got the job Wednesday morning. I was so happy that I got the job so fast. I thinking in my mind all the cloths that I was going to buy and all the places I’ll be able to go. On my first day I didn’t learn nothing, they only thing I learn was how long I can leave a patty on the stove. It was like that for the next month. That’s all I did for the whole month of November. I’ll go in at 4 and come out at 12, with a lunch of 30 minutes that felt like 15 minutes and my shift ended at 12 but I couldn’t leave until 1 because I had to clean the whole kitchen me and another kid. Also they weren’t paying for staying that extra hour and it was mandatory to say. If not you would get fired, until one night that I was so sick and tired that I couldn’t take and left when my shift was over. My boss called and say “ if you don’t come back then don’t come tomorrow” my respond was “ thank god your are doing me a huge favor.”

patricio's ethics food.: "McDonlds mr.brainwash"

McDonalds

McDonalds million of people go their threw out the years. People love it, they love their big Macs, snack wraps, Cheeseburger, Mcnuggets, Mcflurry and so on. We all know their food selections because from small we would see them in ads, build boards, we see our favorite celebrities eating there. We see brand like McDonalds everywhere. It’s like they brainwash us for young to know everything about McDonalds. For a exempla; I remember when I was young I would always want a McDonald every time I would see or hear one. I knew every time when they had a new toy on their happy meals. Also remember going to a fieldtrip to go see their museum. I find it interesting how they have a museum of a fast food restaurant. They make it seem like this fast food brand is one of the most important things in American. Like if you don’t eat for there, you’re no living the American dream.

Have your every notice why many of this fast food franchise have these two main colors Yellow and Red. If you’re a driver your will know what I’m talking about. Like the driver lights yellow meaning to slow down and red meaning to stop. We think about McDonalds symbol a large M with this two colors Yellow inside the m and red with red on the outline. So if you think about when you see it your slow down and stop to go eat. Now think about the sitting inside the restaurant. All the table is like 3 to 4 feet’s away from the other tables and the chair are always comfortable for the first ten minutes and then after you keep trying to find a comfortable. The show you that they just want you in and out, your meal take five to ten minutes. It’s all about the how fast they can get your money. Food should not be a speedy process. Places like McDonalds aren’t the best place to eat.
