Do you think that is smart to have advertising in school when ¼ of its population is either overweight or with type 2 diabetes? Does it make sense to allow fast food chain like McDonalds and Burger Kings market their product in school? I though school is place where we learn healthily living, were they teach us good health hobbits. Above all school should be a place to learn and advertising will distract from that goal. With the population of adolescents who are easier to manipulate then adults; isn’t dangers to their health and education to expose them to this kind of advertising I hope you share my censers and see that this not helping our children.
School should be an educational institution; a place where young people can increases their skills from math to literature. Not a place where ads can brainwash children to buy their product. Advertising is inappropriate and distraction. Ads sidetrack children from the main goal of teaching and learning, not having students thinking about a BIG MAC or a WHOOPER. In school student need to increases their math solving skills, where they can improve their writing and also a place where they can learn of healthily eating.
In past decade or two many states that have big city like New York have seen an alarming rate of obesities children and type 2 diabetes in children. Before it was only adults that would have this diseases but now with all this added chemicals that speed up the growth and size of that food we eat many of our children are getting this disease. This as to with the increases of high corn syrup that could be find in almost any type of food, for sunny delight to ketchup. High corn syrup is a sweetener made from corn: is composed of either 42 percent or 55 percent fructose, with the remaining sugars being primarily glucose and higher sugars. In terms of composition, high fructose corn syrup is nearly identical to table sugar (sucrose), which is composed of 50 percent fructose and 50 percent glucose. Glucose is one of the simplest forms of sugar that serves as a building block for most carbohydrates. Fructose is a simple sugar commonly found in fruits and honey. In the New York Times “A TAX TO COMBAT AMERICA’S SUGARY DIET” they have a section in which they about sugar and high fructose corn syrup “not ordinary table sugar(which the body breaks down to a 50-50 sugar combination of glucose and fructose, the makeup of high-fructose corn syrup); not brown sugar or raw sugar; not honey; not agave syrup; not even fruit juice concentrate. All theses sweetener when added to drinks contribute mostly empty calories that do little to satisfy the appetite and end up as excess energy that the body ultimately turns to fat. And soda, though the most common sugary beverage, is not the only one involved.” By allowing advertising in school is likely to increases the incidence of the illness of diabetes because as the article said many beverages contain corn syrup. In school there many vending machines have sodas also have ads in all over the school. This doesn’t make sense it goes against school morals, school teach young kids to eat healthily but in the same note we allow them to buy sodas in school.

In conclusions, advertising in school causes a lot of health problems, from overweight to illness. This show how much we need to educative our children in high fructose corn syrup and what are some of the solution that will helps decreases the alarming rate of type 2 debates. Also we need to put a stop on the corn syrup all together because this affecting us and our children.
